What should you wear for your fall photo shoot? - Fairfield - CT
/Fall has arrived and with it come the beautiful colors of the turning leaves. For me, it is certainly one of the most beautiful moments of the year. And I believe that’s true for the vast majority of people as well, because many families take the opportunity of the season to take family photos.
In addition to carefully choosing a good photographer and selecting a good location, the choice of clothes ends up being of big importance.
I’ve listed below some of the topics that I think are essential in order for your photo shoot to flow smoothly so that you are completely satisfied with the result.
It may be cold
Temperatures might drop very quickly and you need to make sure that your family is warm enough. Children need to feel good and if they are cold it can be harder to deal with them. So, when planning what to wear, don't forget a weather-appropriate jacket.
Choose a palette
From there, it’s easier to choose what your whole family should wear.
Not long ago, families wore all matching clothes, but nowadays this might feel a bit old-fashioned and I do not recommend it to my customers. It’s also not very flattering.
My favorite colors are neutrals, navy blue, mustard, orange, and eggplant. I suggest you choose 2 colors and combine them with more neutral colors, like white and beige.
Below are some examples.

Make your child happy
Every mother wants her children to behave during the photo shoot, but they forget that even what they’re wearing can be disruptive to the whole process. For example: if your daughter doesn’t like to wear bows, but you insist in making her wear one for the photo shoot. This will make her nervous and irritable and the photos will not come out nicely.
Simple things to do
Hair management;
Keep clean nails;
Clean your face (booger free);
Make sure your clothes are comfortable and not too short or sheer;
Empty everyone’s pockets;
Try your children's clothes on them beforehand, to make sure they match your expectations.
Planning is part of any successful photo shoot. So take the time to make sure the photos allow the best sides of your family to shine through.
