Big mistakes you make when you are planning your maternity photoshoot

One of the first questions my clients ask me is: when is the best time for doing my maternity photo shoot? So, on this post I will try to make things clear for you.

1 - Don’t plan the photo shoot at the beginning - Often times clients wait too long to contact the photographer they wish to hire. I know it seems you will have enough time to plan your photo shoot but believe me, time flies. Think about how many things you need to get done during pregnancy (shopping for the nursery, shopping for baby clothes, eating healthy, working out, and most of the time, planning your baby shower);

I meet my clients at least twice to plan it. We discuss what they have in mind and I give them advice about what could work better for them based on their life story. That said, we will also look for the best locations to fit their desire and style.

2 - Buying a big variety of clothing thinking they will use them all - You don’t need it. And also, you could save your money and spend it on buying a beautiful album or book and save those special moments forever;

3 - Not hiring a good make up artist - It is a big part of the session and it makes a difference. You need someone who really knows what they’re doing. That is why I have a few people I always recommend to my clients. Paula Souzza is one of them. She is a great professional and will make you look and feel amazing. I am sure that is how you need to feel on your special day. Isn’t it?

4 - Not including their loved ones - A maternity photo shoot involves the whole family and they should be in your pictures. Of course the mom and belly are the stars but the ,husband, younger kids and even grandparents could be included.
